Professional Interests

Software Agents, Evolutionary Computations, Evolutionary Robotics, Evolutionary Psychology, Autonomous Driving and Driving Aids.

Ongoing Research

Evolving complex behaviors of simple agents (or robots) that do not compute,

Emergent properties of complex systems,

Machine learning for driving aids,

Human factors in driving,

Epigenetic programming as an approach of introducing explicitly controlled gene expression in genetic programming,

Interactions between ontogenesis (learning), culture and phylogenesis (evolution),

Evolution, adaptation and robustness of locomotion gaits of snake-like robots,

Non-random mutations in genetic programming (e.g., implemented via learning probabilistic context-sensitive grammars).

Hobbies (beyond my work:-)

Hiking, photography, chess, RC cars and planes. Interested also in racing cars (vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, and electronics) and jet fighters (design, aerodynamics, and avionics).
